Ness Lake Bible Camp Projects

Ness Lake Welcome Centre

We are moving the old Chapel up to the edge of the parking lot and placing it on a full foundation with 2 suites to house volunteers.  It'll be great to have the extra housing space, plus we'll be able to put 3 offices on the main floor, and the building will serve as a 'Welcome
Centre' and registration building year round.

We estimate this project will cost $150,000 (less donations in kind).

Welcome Centre front view and back view. As of November 17, 2006 the logs were moved to the new foundation.

By January 2007 they had the roof on and the inside being redeveloped.

Update - Mid February 2007
Praise God for a gift of $25,000 towards the Welcome Centre last week.  This gift is a 'matching gift' to encourage other donors to give to this
project.  So far an additional $13,000 has been received, so we are looking for $12,000 more to be able to claim the full amount.  $50,000 should allow us to get the main floor offices ready for summer (May 1).  Pray that the various trades will be available according to our time line!  That will require divine intervention:  trades are hard to come by in PG!

New Chapel (Beginning Summer 2007)

This next project will be the biggest one undertaken in recent years:  a new Chapel to seat 360 people with washrooms, storage, etc. (about 4,000 square feet).  That will be somewhere around $500,000 when all is said and done.

Update February 2007

We have arranged to fly an architect (Ed Berwick) up from Vancouver March
13/14 to meet with us to begin the design work for a new log Chapel.

We received a gift of 5 logging truckloads of pine house logs for this project last week. Excavation for the new Chapel has also been promised.

To date we have $80,000 committed to this project.  I would anticipate that the full cost will be about$500,000.  We hope to begin the foundation / basement during the summer and have the log package in place and roofed before the snow flies.

Please pray that our plans will proceed with God's blessing, and that we will receive sufficient funds to get the building to lock up prior to November 1, 2007.  This  is clearly a 'God sized' project, and we need his active intervention!
